Morgan Advanced Study Programme
This
programme is designed to give Secondary students the edge in learning.
If
you are a secondary student or live with
one, you are aware of the huge pressure associated with second level
education today.
The
frustration and stress associated with the
teenager’s school year is unhealthy
and unnecessary.
Having
seen these conditions as teachers we created
the Morgan Advanced Study Programme to eliminate frustration and to enhance
academic performance.
You
will learn skills and techniques to improve
your memory and concentration levels and
we support your progress in all your subjects
right throughout the school year.
Who is eligible for the programme?
Students
in both 5th and 6th
year of the Leaving Certificate cycle.
Our
Junior Programme for 2nd and
3rd years will be available in
September 2006
When is it on?
We
provide 14 hours of support each week.
Monday
to Thursday 5.30pm - 9pm.
Your homework and study
will be completed in that time and you are
free to relax for the rest of the night!
It is a very active night with regular
breaks so the time never drags!
We
follow the regular school year as closely
as possible. We will support you right
throughout the academic year until Thursday
1st June 2006.
What are the benefits for Students?
Morgan
Advanced Study students are taught advanced
learning & study techniques to apply
to their studies.
These
skills are not being taught by any other
programme in Ireland.
- Your
ability to focus and concentrate will
increase.
- Your
memory will improve and unhealthy stress
levels will practically disappear.
- You
will receive assistance with all
of the subjects you are currently
studying throughout the entire year.
- You
will be taught to organise
your time and set manageable
goals which will be monitored.
- You
will be provided with study plans for
all
of your subjects which eliminate
a lot of the mystery associated
with many subjects.
The
result of being supported by the Morgan
Advanced Study Programme is the experience
of being calm, organised and focused during
a vital time in your academic life.
What are the benefits for Parents
& Guardians?
When
your teenager begins secondary school suddenly
their education becomes serious
business.
Right
through to the Leaving Certificate have
so many different subjects to cope with
they can experience a sense
of overwhelm.
This
struggle can continue and parents feel at
a loss as to how they can help
Mentoring:
As
part of our programme we provide support
for students through our mentoring process. At the beginning
of the programme every student is assigned
a specific supervisor who is a constant
source of support throughout the year.
Introductory Advanced Learning Training for Parents:
You
will be invited to take part in an introductory
training in Morgan Advanced Learning so
that you are aware of our approach to study
and can offer your support from home.
Progress Reports:
We
provide comprehensive monthly
progress reports. Parents are encouraged
to meet with centre coordinators.
Feedback
from parents to date has highlighted a further
benefit that we initially overlooked.
One parent summed it up in this way;
‘Since
my son began the Morgan Advanced Study Programme
there is peace in my home for the first
time in years. I am no longer the
nagging mother. I can now ask him
how his football match went instead!’
- Ms. O’Keeffe, Kerry
How have teachers reacted to your
programme?
We
are not a substitute for schools and the
great work that teachers do.
We
are a support for students in order to complete
their homework and study needs.
We have
had students join our programme when their
teacher recommended it.
We
encourage teachers to communicate with us
so that we can work together to support
students.
We
also provide support and training for teachers
in Advanced Teaching Methodology.
Where is the Advanced Study Programme
held?
This
year we have centres in Dublin,
Cork and Kerry.
Dublin:
Dublin City
University
Irish Management Institute, Sandyford

How many students will be catered
for?
There
will be no
more than forty students allowed in
each study group. To ensure adequate
support for each student we insist on small
study groups.
Is this not the same as regular
supervised study?
The
Morgan Advanced Study Programme is totally
different from what both parents and students
know as supervised study.
In the
Morgan Advanced Study Programme we teach
you HOW to think and HOW to learn.
No
other programme….
